Snapchat, one of the most used social networks has introduced a new plan so that parents can control who their children communicate with. This is a way to keep teenagers safe from falling victim to various online attacks, including pedophilia.

The new option, called Family Center, promises to give parents more insight into who their teens are communicating with on the messaging app without revealing the content of the conversations. Parents must create their Snapchat account and teens must opt-in and give permission for them to use the feature.

“Family Hub is designed to mirror the way parents engage with their teens in the real world, where parents typically know who their teens are friends with and when they’re hanging out, but don’t eavesdrop on their private conversations ,” said a company press release.
